Scholar and Evil - Is it Possible???

We really find it difficult to believe that even religious scholars can turn out to be Evil (termed as Ulama-e-Soo). One can actually find many religious scholars (claimed) who turn out to be exactly opposite to what is expected from any religious scholars.

The Purpose of this writeup is to show the readers that evil religious scholars to exist.

The Following is what Allah (swt) says in the Holy Quran:

Sura At-Tawba-9, Verse:31

اتَّخَذُوا أَحْبَارَهُمْ وَرُهْبَانَهُمْ أَرْبَابًا مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ وَالْمَسِيحَ ابْنَ مَرْيَمَ وَمَا أُمِرُوا إِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُوا إِلَٰهًا وَاحِدًا ۖ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ۚ سُبْحَانَهُ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ

"They take their priests and their Monks to be their lords in derogation of Allah, and (they take as their Lord) Christ the son of Mary; yet they were commanded to worship but One Allah: there is no god but He. Praise and glory to Him: (Far is He) from having the partners they associate (with Him)."

Imam Jafar Sadiq (as) was asked regarding the above verse:

"I asked Imam abu ‘Abd Allah (DivineSupremeCovenantBody) about the verse of the Holy Quran that says, ‘They (unconditionally) obeyed the rabbis and the monks and worshipped the Messiah, son of Mary, as they should have obeyed God . . .. (9:31)’. The Imam replied, "By Allah they did not call people to worship them. If they had done so people would not have accepted it. The Rabbis and monks made unlawful things lawful for them and the lawful things as lawful. And in this way they worshipped them unintentionally."

Another Verse of the Holy Quran:

Sura At Tawba-9, Verse:34

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا إِنَّ كَثِيرًا مِنَ الْأَحْبَارِ وَالرُّهْبَانِ لَيَأْكُلُونَ أَمْوَالَ النَّاسِ بِالْبَاطِلِ وَيَصُدُّونَ عَنْ سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ۗ وَالَّذِينَ يَكْنِزُونَ الذَّهَبَ وَالْفِضَّةَ وَلَا يُنْفِقُونَهَا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ فَبَشِّرْهُمْ بِعَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ

"O ye who believe! there are indeed many among the priests and Monks, eat away the property of men falsely and hinder (them) from the way of Allah. And there are those who bury gold and silver and spend it not in the way of Allah: announce unto them a most grievous penalty."

Now once we are aware of the existance of the evil scholars and their characteristics more details on such ev evil scholars are provided by the Imam (as) in the following Hadees which are in line with the verses of the Holy Quran quoted above.

1) Imam Hasan Askari (as) says:

فأما من كان من الفقهاء صائنا لنفسه، حافظا لدينه، مخالفا على هواه، مطيعا لأمر مولاه، فللعوام أن يقلدوه، وذلك لا يكون إلا بعض فقهاء الشيعة لا جميعهم، فإنه من ركب من القبايح والفواحش مراكب فسقة العامة فلا تقبلوا منا عنه شيئا، ولا كرامة، وإنما كثر التخليط فيما يتحمل عنا أهل البيت لذلك لأن الفسقة يتحملون عنا فيحرفونه بأسره بجهلهم، ويضعون الأشياء على غير وجهها لقلة معرفتهم، وآخرون يتعمدون الكذب علينا ليجروا من عرض الدنيا ما هو زادهم إلى نار جهنم، ومنهم قوم (نصاب) لا يقدرون على القدح فينا، يتعلمون بعض علومنا الصحيحة فيتوجهون به عند شيعتنا، وينتقصون بنا عند نصابنا، ثم يضيفون إليه أضعاف وأضعاف أضعافه من الأكاذيب علينا التي نحن براء منها، فيتقبله المستسلمون من شيعتنا، على أنه من علومنا، فضلوا وأضلوا وهم أضر على ضعفاء شيعتنا من جيش يزيد على الحسين بن علي عليه السلام وأصحابه، فإنهم يسلبونهم الأرواح والأموال، وهؤلاء علماء السوء الناصبون المتشبهون بأنهم لنا موالون، ولأعدائنا معادون، ويدخلون الشك والشبهة على ضعفاء شيعتنا فيضلونهم ويمنعونهم عن قصد الحق المصيب

"But among Fuqaha who guards his self, is guardian of his Deen, is opposer of his selfish wishes, is obedient to the commandment of his Maola (s.a.), thus public ought to do his Taqleed. But these (qualities) are not found in all except a few Shia Fuqaha, and who commits ugly and vulgar deeds like the general scholars commit corruption, do not accept anything from them, and do not respect them. And most of the time only they mix up what they take from Ahlul Bait (s.a.a.), it is like that because what Fasiq takes from us, he does complete alteration in it, due to his ignorance, and does not keep things on their proper place due to lack of Marifat, and some others belie us purposely in greed of worldly things, for them there is only addition of Fire of Hell. And among them there are some Nasibi people, who can not oppose openly, they learn some of our real knowledge, and become attractable among our Shias, and they start decreasing us (decreasing Faza’il), and then go further in that, and keep adding and adding lies about us, from which we are immune. Some followers among our Shias accept their words, because they have some of our knowledge, they are astray themselves, and misguide others as well. And they are more dangerous for our weak Shias than the army of Yazeed (l.u.) who opposed Imam Hussain bin Ali (s.a.) and his companions (a.s.), because they looted our lives and belongings. And those Nasibi evil Ulma disguise as our lovers, but help our enemies, and put our weak Shias in doubts, so that they can misguide and prohibit them from the destination of Haqq.

2) Imam Ridha (as) said :

"Some of those who claim the affection for us - the Prophet's Household are more dangerous for our Shia than the ordeal of the Dajjal." I asked : "How do such people become dangerous? " The Imam (as) answered "They support our enemies and antagonize our followers. When this occurs, the right wil be confused with the wrong and the whole matter will be perplexed. Then, there will be no distinction between the believers and the hypocrities."
